A week in Cairo
I can’t explain how beautiful it is. I would just go around and take pictures for hours and won’t get bored. Alright, how about we back a tad. Cairo is a greatly misunderstood city, full of contradictions, beautiful in its own way. You will see a clash of histories, the new building on top of the ancient, a clash of people and the bystanders who will cheerfully yell "Welcome to Egypt!" one of the catch phrase you may repeat a lot is "Yalla" meaning hurry up.

In a truly kind gesture who will just as soon cut you off in traffic or I should say flying cars, and will also shout at you for not paying enough for a taxi. Above all, this is a place for adventure. There are so many trips that you can take in Egypt. However, Egypt’s mega-city is the fastest growing city in the world. Prior to going to Egypt, I had often heard from tourist friends saying skip Cairo, it’s dirty, huge, chaotic, and stressful. I have one thing to say to those people: DO NOT MISS CAIRO. If you approach the city strategically, as I will detail below, Cairo is an approachable, very affordable, fascinating city with truly an endless number of things to do. Further, unlike Nile cruises and the Red Sea, Cairo has a broader array of things to do and history to explore from the huge collection of mummies at the Egyptian Museum to the famous mosques in Islamic Cairo, Cairo is the so- called “Coptic Cairo”, an area where you can visit churches, Christian graveyards, and the famous Hanging Church. It’s such an unexpected atmosphere, it almost feels like being in another city.
